The Mobile Revolution

mobile phoneWe can do almost anything via our smart phones. Holiday shopping, banking, order pizza…  Mobile recruiting should be the next logical step in the healthcare staffing industry. 

Mobile technology is revolutionizing the way that we communicate. In our jobs it allows people to not be tied to a single location while working. If you are travelling to work from a client's site or at a personal appointment, mobile technology helps you stay in touch and be productive while out of the typical office environment. 

With enhanced communication mobile phones have also changed the way your company does business as a whole. There are new ways of working including having remote offices within close proximity to your client. If you use this technology to its fullest your team can be more efficient, creative, and more valuable to your clients and caregivers.

There is a large advantage of having unprecedented level of connectivity between caregivers, clients, recruiters and clinical oversite. Caregivers can download applications on their mobile phones, such as the new BlueSky Mobile App, that allow them to connect with their recruiters or others through social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

Because mobile is so accessible Caregivers can instantly know about open positions they might be interested in even while working on a shift. These job postings can reach a very specific, targeted audience allowing only caregivers that are interested in working in that specialty or at that particular hospital to see the open position. In other words an RN-ER who wants per diem work is not going to see a therapy travel position three states away.

There are even more creative ways to use mobile technology to your agency’s benefit, such as Skype. Skype is a great alternative for interviewing. Especially if you are managing a travel healthcare staffing agency with nurses across the country. If the candidate cannot be in your office due to distance, there is no need to do formal in-person interviews. Use Skype as your personal interview. It is VERY effective and can be done right from a mobile phone.
